Well haven’t we gone into overdrive on the late Summer!! A few days of rain have cooled us down but mostly it’s been sun all the way. Thankfully our newly refurbished terrace has been an amazing addition and we can’t wait to have it again for the Lusso Brunch on the 31st August. But what do we have in store for our specials this time …… Well we have gone with the theme and made it super summery, plus one other dish for those who love a classic hearty meal.

For our starters we have gone with fresh and light dishes you can have as a pre-snack for your main or a lunch dish with or without some other small plates and probably a cocktail. Our own version of “tartare” with Roasted Beef Striploin, watercress emulsion and wholegrain mustard, capers, cornishons and radish. This one will leave you well saited but feeling fresh and think of all that gorgeous protein! For those who prefer fish, we have added the Cold Smoked Chalk Stream Trout Crudo with grapefruit, crispy capers and vodka creme fraiche, and trust us when we say you could eat three plates of this and STILL want more.
Our light sauce based pizza for this week has a great mixture of flavours, the Pizza Bianco with bechamel sauce, chestnut mushroom, guanciale, free range egg, rocket and parmesan. A perfect slice for a sunny day shared with friends (if you share food that is….). Or if pasta is more your thing, give the Casarecce E Piselli a try with chorizo, peas, confit garlic, and parmesan cream. Lighter than it sounds, we have tailored these to the hotter weather so you can enjoy great food without feeling too full afterwards.

Now the real special dish of the week, our Steamed Mussels with Hawkstone Cider (if you know of Jeremy Clarkson or Clarksons Farm, you will know how exciting this is for us to have on draught and also now in one of our special dishes!), leeks, pancetta, cream and our Figurati Truffle Fries. It makes for the perfect sunny weather imagining you’re in the South of France. And if you want something a little more classic, go for the Roasted Pork Fillet with black pudding potato cake, braised corn and tarragon jus.

Looking to add something sweet? How about the Lemon Curd Tart (seriously who remembers eating lemon curd sandwiches in your school lunchbox) with torched Italian meringue, raspberry gel and finished with fresh raspberries for the perfect amount of tang!
