We recently received 40 squash from Southampton City Farm and a range of vegetables from Fourseasons Fruiterers. Our Head Chef Nick O’Halloran instantly knew he wanted to put these vegetables to use and support local soup kitchens.
Our dedicated team came into the kitchen on a Saturday to prepare a hearty meal for two of Southampton’s cherished soup kitchens. It was a great team effort and we made a whopping 140 portions of squash soup.

When the soup was finally ready, we loaded up the pots and made our way to St. Marks and St. Denys Church Hall soup kitchens. As we arrived, we were greeted with a warm welcome from everyone there.
It was fantastic to see the whole team get involved and be so willing to give up their time for others. Soup kitchens are hugely important for many people in our local communities, and we recognise that organisations such as food banks and soup kitchens need all the support they can get.
Seeing the smiles on their faces as we ladled out servings of squash soup reminded us of how important it is to go the extra mile, and support the local community.
At Figurati, we feel it’s really important to give back to communities and help people in need where we can. St. Marks and St. Denys Church Hall soup kitchens are brilliant organisations and provide hundreds of meals to Southampton residents weekly. They are always looking for volunteers and donations too.
The work these organisations do is invaluable, and we are grateful for the opportunity to play a part in their mission.
We had a great time working as a team and meeting so many wonderful individuals who visited the soup kitchens. We hope to work with them again soon!
