It’s been a little grey and drizzly and that’s really not our preference. Our amazing Lusso Brunch was the busiest we have ever had! Such a great success and we can’t wait for the rest of the years’ brunches, plus the sun showed its face for the day so we’re hoping that’s a good omen. Plus you can book tickets for any month as the dates and links have been released for the whole year! Plus as Valentines has now passed this post won’t be as NSFW as the last one *yawn*.
Other than that, I think we’re all still tired from January and even though February has whizzed by, does anyone else need a holiday? Luckily we have coffee on tap so if you’re feeling sleepy then just pop by for a cup. But if you’re awake long enough to join us for dinner then here’s what you can expect from our specials for the next couple of weeks.
Getting into the Spring spirit, we have paired sweet and savoury together nicely with our Prosciutto & Apricot Croquettes with pancetta ketchup (yes it’s as good as it sounds), pickled shallot and pecorino. It tastes just as good as it looks and a great snack or starter especially if you love our arancini or carbonara balls. Diving straight into our pasta dish, it’s creamy and tasty and will leave you wanting more. Okay we lied about the smut but deal with it. Cavolo Nero & Ricotta Ravioli with quattro formaggi sauce, crispy kale and toasted hazelnuts. Just the right amount of flavour and cream to make it melt in your mouth.
Our pizza has a light feel to it this time but we don’t mean in weight, more in terms of flavour for a warmer day. The Pizza Alla Trotta with smoked chalk stream trout (a solid favourite), lemon, dill, radish, zucchini and rocket will tantalise but in a fresh and fulfilling way. Great if you like a lighter pizza option! But if meat is your thing, then sink your teeth into the New Forest Venison Loin with caramelised onion puree, roasted shallot, patate alla lionese and broccolini. This hearty dish will have you licking the juices off the plate with no shame. Plus it pairs fantastically with red wine, so choose from our extensive list!
Our ‘fiss diss’ as Nick likes to say is the Whole Grilled Sea Bream with chargrilled zucchini, sun blushed tomatoes and the most incredible roasted shellfish sauce. If you haven’t tried this one and you like fish, who even are you?!
Finishing off with our Lady Fingers (not sure what happened to the mens ones, maybe they just weren’t as nice…?) in the Traditional Tiramisu with savoiardi, coffee, marsala, mascarpone and cocoa. A very delicious dessert and at least you know what you’re getting with those fingers!
